What is the Indian e-Visa Application?

An Indian e-Visa is an official electronic travel authorization that allows citizens from roughly 177 eligible countries to enter India for short-term stays without needing to visit an embassy or physically submit their passport.

The entire process—from application to payment—is done online. If approved, the visa is issued via email as an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), which you print out and present at the airport immigration counter upon arrival, where the physical visa stamp is placed in your passport.

Tourist e-Visa This form of e-Visa is available to tourists who are traveling to India for leisure, sightseeing, or to see relatives or friends, Short Term Yoga Programme, Voluntary work which do not provide monetary compensation or Short term courses.

The validity of a 1-month tourist e-Visa is 30 days from date of entry. 2 entries and a 30-day stay are permitted.

A 1-year tourist e-Visa is valid for 365 days from date of issue. You can enter multiple times and stay for 90 days straight.

Business e-Visa

Medical Attendant e-Visa Indian Medical Attendant e-Visa is intended for people traveling to India with the patient. Valid for 60 days from first entry; only 2 attendant visas can be granted per e-Medical Visa, and the attendant must travel with the patient
Conference e-Visa Indian E-Conference Visa is intended for people traveling to India for seminars, conferences, etc.
Conference Visa is not required unless Government of India organized the event. 		This eVisa type allows for a 30-day validity period, 1 (one) entry, and a 30-day continuous stay.
